4 Best Happy Hour Deals in Sai Ying Pun

As the busy week draws to a close, why not consider unwinding with some good food and cheap drinks in the charming little neighbourhood we call Sai Ying Pun.

Where are the best deals you wonder? Well, I’ve got you covered, with 4 of the best happy hour spots.

(Note: You may save the info cards for later use. Clicking on them takes you to the establishment’s website!)

1. Potato Head

Worries of Covid-19 and long quarantine times have discouraged us from taking that much needed holiday, but we know that we can create that vacay-feel in this bustling metropolis we call Hong Kong. And what better way to replicate those feelings than by heading over to Potato Head, an eco-conscious bar promising to serve Balinese-inspired cocktails and tropical delights.

Take advantage of their “Sun Down Hours” prices from Tuesday – Friday 5pm – 8pm, where you can not only enjoy your classic wine and beer beverages, but some dangerously easy-to-drink island-inspired tropical cocktails. Prices range from HKD$60 island-inspired cocktails, HKD$50 glasses of wine and HKD$55 local Gweilo beers. Bali is just a sip away.

This unique little joint has everything to offer. Tuck into some traditional Balinese cuisine in their famous Kaum restaurant, followed by enjoying their unique tropical cocktails at the Eksotika bar, then dancing the night away in their wood-paneled music room.

2. Winston’s Coffee

This trendy coffee joint is not only known as one of the coolest coffeeshops in SYP for its well-brewed classic coffees, but for its inexpensive drink deals and innovative healthy snacks too!

Winston’s Coffee’s black façade and retro cinema sign make it easily spotted on Queen’s Road West. Day drinking is encouraged here, with cocktails being served from 11am onwards.

Take advantage of their daily-changing happy hour deals. Gin and Tonic Tuesdays starting from HKD$50, Prosecco on Fridays at HKD$50 a glass and $200 a bottle and Espresso Martinis at HKD$50 on Friday and Saturday.

Try one of their unique health foods, ranging from acai bowls, flaxseed power bites, biltong, focaccia and matcha tarts.

Bring a little excitement in your night every Thursday from 5-10pm with the chance to win a whole round on the house in a “Toss the Boss” game, where you compete head-to-head against the bartender in a coin toss that could land you some free cocktails!

Winston’s is a great recommendation. They have the most delicious cocktails as well as being pet-friendly! The one in Kennedy Town is also the ideal place for post-work drinks.

Fantastic blog! Do you have any helpful hints for aspiring writers? I’m hoping to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m completely overwhelmed .. Any ideas? Thanks a lot!
