(Note: You may save the info cards for later use. Clicking on them takes you to the establishment’s website!)
1. Potato Head
Worries of Covid-19 and long quarantine times have discouraged us from taking that much needed holiday, but we know that we can create that vacay-feel in this bustling metropolis we call Hong Kong. And what better way to replicate those feelings than by heading over to Potato Head, an eco-conscious bar promising to serve Balinese-inspired cocktails and tropical delights.
Take advantage of their “Sun Down Hours” prices from Tuesday – Friday 5pm – 8pm, where you can not only enjoy your classic wine and beer beverages, but some dangerously easy-to-drink island-inspired tropical cocktails. Prices range from HKD$60 island-inspired cocktails, HKD$50 glasses of wine and HKD$55 local Gweilo beers. Bali is just a sip away.
This unique little joint has everything to offer. Tuck into some traditional Balinese cuisine in their famous Kaum restaurant, followed by enjoying their unique tropical cocktails at the Eksotika bar, then dancing the night away in their wood-paneled music room.
2. Winston’s Coffee
This trendy coffee joint is not only known as one of the coolest coffeeshops in SYP for its well-brewed classic coffees, but for its inexpensive drink deals and innovative healthy snacks too!
Winston’s Coffee’s black façade and retro cinema sign make it easily spotted on Queen’s Road West. Day drinking is encouraged here, with cocktails being served from 11am onwards.
Take advantage of their daily-changing happy hour deals. Gin and Tonic Tuesdays starting from HKD$50, Prosecco on Fridays at HKD$50 a glass and $200 a bottle and Espresso Martinis at HKD$50 on Friday and Saturday.
Try one of their unique health foods, ranging from acai bowls, flaxseed power bites, biltong, focaccia and matcha tarts.
Bring a little excitement in your night every Thursday from 5-10pm with the chance to win a whole round on the house in a “Toss the Boss” game, where you compete head-to-head against the bartender in a coin toss that could land you some free cocktails!
3. The Winery
Yes, the testaments are true. The Winery does uphold their promise of a buzzing social atmosphere, delicious brunchy dishes to share and low-priced happy hour prices for wines by the glass, procecco and craft cocktails. With its rustic décor and lush greenery, this little hybrid kitchen and bar is the ultimate boozy hang out spot if you wish to kick back and relax.
Enjoy free flow wine and cheese at $238 per person on Wednesday from 6-8pm, or
free flow Peroni, house wine, house spirits, prosecco and snacks at $200 per person on Friday from 5-8pm.
Finish off the week by joining their Sunday session, and taking advantage of their afternoon free-flow of Sangria, Pimm’s and Spritz from 4-7pm.
4. Craft Brew and Co
What is better than cheap beer? Cheap craft beer of course!
If mid-week drinking and cheap, quality craft beer is your thing, head over to Craft Brew & Co to take advantage of their daily 12-7pm happy hour and inexpensive food prices.
If beer is not your thing? They have a wide range of wines, cocktails, and house spirits varying from HKD$48 – HKD$60.
Don’t forget to order a side of their gourmet sausages to compliment your low-priced beverages, or opt for the Beer & Wings combo priced at HKD$98 only!
